Risk Based
Corrective Action (RBCA) To determine the most
appropriate/cost-effective strategy for case closure TriCore’s
staff is highly experienced in the RBCA process. Reduction
in Groundwater Sampling Events Reduces cost without
compromising environmental compliance Reduction
in Reporting Requirements Reduces cost without
compromising state reporting requirements Implementation
of Low Cost Alternative Technologies Reduces or eliminates
capital and/or long term operation and maintenance costs Maximize
Utilization of State Reimbursement Programs Improves customer cash
flow RBCA is a process that utilizes principals of
toxicology, exposure assessment, and fate and transport modeling to
make corrective action decisions on sites that are both cost-effective
and protective of human health and environment. Many states have adopted a
RBCA approach in an effort to control their costs and resources. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has
encouraged the use of the RBCA process in State LUST programs. The process is described in the American
Standard Guide for Testing and Materials (ASTM) (1739-95) for Risk
Based Corrective Action applied at Petroleum Release Sites. The technical basis for the risk assessment methods used in the RBCA standard are currently applied to a large number of facilities. TriCore personnel utilizes
RBCA principals with State agencies to achieve the following
“closures”: · Regulatory closure of essentially all site
activities. · Monitoring only, eliminates remedial
systems with application state approved alternatives to reduce costs. · No Further Action, a negotiated solution
which eliminates monitoring program. |
